NRS 6422 Advanced Diagnostics I
This course prepares Family Nurse Practitioner students to apply advanced diagnostic reasoning across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on comprehensive and focused health assessments, development of differential diagnoses, and the selection, ordering, and interpretation of diagnostic tests. Students integrate pathophysiology, evidence-based guidelines, and clinical judgment to support diagnostic decision-making. The course also addresses accurate clinical documentation, patient communication, ethical practice, and interprofessional collaboration to support safe, high-quality primary care. Prerequisite: NRS 5101 or approval from the Program Director
