NRS 6414 Primary Care Across Lifespan I
This course examines foundational principles of primary care management across the lifespan, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment and management of common acute and chronic conditions. Students explore epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic evaluation, and evidence-based management of conditions affecting pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. Content includes pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies, patient education, interprofessional collaboration, care coordination, and population-based strategies. Documentation standards, coding, billing, and reporting requirements relevant to primary care practice are also introduced, with emphasis on ethical decision-making, quality, regulatory compliance, and improved patient outcomes.
