SLP 5243 Motor Speech Disorders
This course provides a life span approach to apraxia and dysarthria through discussion of the etiology, diagnosis, and intervention. Pediatric disorders, such as childhood apraxia of speech and dysarthria, are discussed. Acquired apraxia and dysarthria, given the impact on the subsystems of respiration, phonation, prosody articulation and resonance are of focus. Students are expected to differentially diagnose, complete research reviews, and develop a plan of care given a case study simulation.
