Uniform Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Examination Candidates:
Many states, including Indiana, require various levels of education to sit for CPA Examination. Candidates must have at least a baccalaureate degree, with an accounting concentration or its equivalent. The number of college hours vary from state to state and is currently evolving with multiple states requiring 120 hours to sit for the exam, but 150 hours to become a licensed CPA subsequent to passing the exam. Other states require 150 hours before a candidate can sit for the exam. An accounting major wishing to meet this requirement should plan an individualized program with his or her advisor.
