NRS 5343 Advanced Health Assessment
This course develops advanced clinical knowledge and skills for comprehensive and episodic health assessment across the lifespan using a body systems approach. Emphasis is placed on health history, physical, psychosocial, cultural, developmental, and nutritional assessments to support clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis of common health problems. Students apply evidence-based assessment techniques in primary care settings, analyze assessment data to determine the need for diagnostic testing or referral, and communicate findings through clear written documentation. Health promotion, disease prevention, and culturally responsive care are emphasized to inform therapeutic nursing interventions. Includes 24 hr direct and 100 indirect care hours.
