Bachelor of Arts—Communication Major (120 hrs.)
A degree in Communication provides students with applied knowledge concerning practical approaches to communication while promoting academic creativity and work-place applicable skills.
The Department of Humanities and Communication promotes the intellectual and personal development of all students through a platform of humanistic experiences and application of concentrated practical communication skills while preparing majors to lead, succeed, and serve in their careers and lives.
Students will be able to:
- Reading: Demonstrate skills in analyzing traditional and digital texts and digital media
- Writing: Possess skill in writing a variety of texts for multiple audiences and purposes
- Researching: Apply appropriate communication field research processes, tools, and methods to critically and credibly engage with key questions in the field.
- Applying: Apply the skills of the communication field to create professional-level products for multiple audiences and multiple contexts using appropriate channels.
- Engaging: Engage with a variety of modes and media from multiple cultures and diverse perspectives intersecting with contemporary issues.
