SLP 5253 Practicum II

Students will participate this 8-week, 15-hours per week supervised clinical practice at an affiliate practicum site with individuals presenting with speech, voice, fluency, language, cognitive, motor speech, and/or swallowing impairments.  Focus is for students to move from discovery to application of evaluation, diagnosis, intervention, interaction, professional, and documentation skills.  Increased client contact time is expected during this practicum.  Placement site will direct the student’s exposure to team meetings, interprofessional collaboration, and the full scope of services provided by speech language pathologists.  Students will earn clock hours with communication and/or swallowing impairments given the amount of direct time in the provision of service.  Prerequisite: SLP 5153
