OTD 6543 Scholarly Inquiry & EBP III
In this course students apply the concepts of evidence-based practice to answer a question relevant to clinical practice. Students work in groups with faculty mentors to identify a question, review the literature, and collect and analyze evidence to determine best practices and/or policies. The course will meet its outcomes through one of three mechanisms: (1) student research with a faculty mentor; (2) an evidence-based project; or (3) a research poster supporting the doctoral capstone project. Weekly sessions will be led by the instructor(s) of record and mentored by an assigned OTD faculty member or key Capstone stakeholder. The weekly sessions will focus on the application of concepts from prior evidence-based practice courses and critical evaluation of the literature. Students will present their research findings at a capstone plan poster presentation at the end of the fall semester. Prerequisite: Successful completion of the previous semester and OTD 5343
