Bachelor of Arts — Athletics and Recreation Major (120 hrs.)

The athletics and recreation major is designed for students pursuing a career in recreation and sports. The program offers a comprehensive education in physical activity, sports, and related fields, providing a well-rounded foundation for success in this industry. Graduates of the program will be equipped to design and manage sports programs and take on leadership roles in areas such as coaching, recreational programming, and sports administration.

Mission

The goal is to equip students with the quality educational tools needed to develop a career of leadership in the athletics and recreation profession, provide them with a depth of studies that prepares them to meet the contemporary needs of the business and community they will serve as professionals, and to enable them to be contributing citizens of local, regional and international communities with a valuable and diverse knowledge.

Outcomes

Our program assures that students attain the following outcomes:

  2. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  3. Demonstrate quantitative reasoning through analysis, synthesis, and interpretation of data.

  5. Demonstrate a knowledge base specific to athletics and recreation preparing students to seek and grow in a professional career path.
