Mission
The Music Minor at Trine University encourages students from all academic majors to explore continued personal music growth and potential music career opportunities through music ensembles, collaborative academic courses, and individualized applied lessons.
Outcomes
Creating, developing, and crafting new music and artistic presentations, compositions, and performances.
Performing musical compositions and ideas through the development and refinement of technical, analytical, musical, emotional, physical, and theoretical abilities.
Evaluating how music conveys meaning.
Connecting with members of the ensemble, audience, local community, and supporters of music through personal appreciation of music.
Requirements
Core Courses (5-6 hrs.)
Please note that MUS 213 has a prerequisite of MUS 113 or permission of Director of Music.

MUS 1011: Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, String, Voice, Piano
Must complete two credit hours
Select Ensemble Studies (2-4 hrs.)
Students must take at least 4 semesters of an ensemble to earn the minor. Ensemble courses are offered for 0 and 1 credit. At least 2 credits must be earned from these course options.
