EXS 211 Exploring Occupational Therapy

This interactive course explores the history and development of the occupational therapy profession. Students will be introduced to the AOTA Standards of Practice, as a basis for learning the varying roles of the occupational therapy practitioner. Students will engage in weekly topics that cover areas of occupational therapy by practice setting. By the end of the course, students will be able to articulate occupational therapies scope of practice, differentiate from other health professions, and gain a basic understanding of how dysfunction can impact occupational engagement.
