SLP 6516 Externship
During this full-time, 40-hours per week for 15 weeks clinical, students will participate in an advanced, supervised practice at an affiliate placement with individuals presenting with speech voice, fluency, language, cognitive, motor speech, and/or swallowing impairments. Students will be expected to integrate all course work and clinical experiences to provide evaluation, diagnosis, intervention, and documentation that is expected of the affiliate site. Students are expected to make clinical judgements, with supervisor approval, and collaborate with team members, such as other therapy disciplines, social services, and/or billing. Students will earn clock hours with communication and/or swallowing impairments given the amount of direct time in the provision of service.
