OTD 6433 Leadership, Management, and Supervision

Students will explore leadership theories and management concepts relevant to the current healthcare landscape, interdisciplinary teams, and the nature of the change process as it impacts service delivery. Principles of supervision will be analyzed with an emphasis on collaboration with the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and other non-OT personnel. Issues of interest for the professional such as the occupational therapist’s role in emerging practice areas, national health disparities, occupational justice, and health care reform will be examined. Students will be expected to demonstrate competence with professional communication, collaboration with interprofessional graduate students, and professionalism. Prerequisites: OTD 5232 and OTD 5332
