Certificate of Nursing Leadership (12 hrs.)
The Certificate of Nursing Leadership is designed to provide professional leadership development opportunities for registered nurses. This is important across an academic nursing career in order to reflect changes in healthcare, in addition to strengthened competencies in organizational and systems thinking, quality improvement and safety, care coordination, inter-professional communication, and team-based care and leadership.
This certificate would be available to nurses that possess a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Should the BSN nurse wish to purse the master's degree of nursing (MSN) at Trine within three years of completion of the certificate, credit for these courses will be awarded as part of the MSN program after successful completion of NRS 5101. Additionally, the Certificate of Nursing Leadership prepares graduates for the Certified in Executive Nursing Practice CENP® exam, which is administered through the American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL).
