SLP 6322 Dysphagia

Students will review the anatomy and physiology of swallowing and discuss evaluation and rehabilitation of swallowing disorders.  Emphasis on recognition of clinical and videofluoroscopic swallow study/radiographic signs and symptoms of dysphagia, with selection of rehabilitation and management of skills.  Swallowing disorders in various populations across the age span are discussed.  Ethical considerations in clinical cases are presented for student discussion.
